Terms of use
What you agree to by using Roomify, and what we owe you in return. Short, and in the same plain language as everything else.

Working draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This page describes the rules as the product actually enforces them, and is here so the site is not shipping a dead link. It is not a substitute for terms drafted for Indian consumer and IT law, and it must be replaced before Roomify launches publicly.
Who can use Roomify
You must be 18 or over. One account per person — the phone number is what keeps that honest. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep the password to yourself.
Be who you say you are
- Use your own photos, your own name, and your real employer.
- Do not create a profile for anyone else, or pretend to be them.
- The verified tick means a work email was confirmed. Getting one under false pretences is grounds for removal.
How you treat people
Roomify exists so strangers can decide whether to share a home. That only works if the place is safe to be in. Harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, scams and solicitation all get an account removed, and we do not require a pattern before acting.
- A decline is an answer. Do not try to route around it.
- Do not share anyone's photos, messages or details outside the app.
- Report anything that worries you. Reports are private and we read every one.
What Roomify does not do
We match people. We do not screen them. The verified tick says an employer is real; it does not say a person is safe, honest, or good to live with — nothing we can build would say that.
- We are not a party to any agreement you reach about a flat, rent, deposit or tenancy.
- We do not run background checks, and you should not treat the app as though we had.
- Meet in public first, tell someone where you are going, and take your time.
Your content
Your photos and profile stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them inside the app for as long as your account exists, and nothing beyond that — we do not use your photos in advertising or hand them to anyone else. Delete your account and they go, as described in the privacy policy.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any moment from inside the app, without asking us. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules or puts other people at risk, and we will say why unless saying so would put someone in danger.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that actually affects you, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page and hoping you re-read it.
