Not a neighbourhood — an office, out of a real directory of Indian companies and pincodes. A commute is the constraint people actually plan a flat around, and both sides' search radius has to agree before either of you appears to the other.

Nearby is a list you scroll, compare and come back to. Open anyone in full — their habits, their budget, how far they are, where the two of you agree and where you do not — and send a request only once you have actually read them.

Opening up does not drop you into everyone's list. You are shown only to people who have opted in too, and only they are shown to you. One person's choice can never override another's.

Closing it again takes one tap and asks you nothing. Widening who can see you deserves a moment's thought; narrowing it should never have friction in front of it.

The database enforces it, not the screen
A profile physically cannot be set to "any" without a recorded consent, and the query that builds your list checks both sides every time. It is not a preference the server trusts a phone to honour.
Verified by employer
A tick that means something specific.
Confirm a work email and your profile carries your employer's name. It does not vouch for the person — nothing can — but it says the job is real, and that is most of what separates a genuine profile from a throwaway one.
Follow the companies you would happily share with, and people from them rank first in your list. It is the one signal an unverified profile can still contribute.

Every one of these is enforced in the database, not just in the interface. They are not settings we hope you find.
A distance, never an address
Your location is rounded to roughly 100 metres before it is stored, and the server strips your coordinates and pincode out of anything another person receives. They see "3 km away". That is all there is to see.
Nobody messages you first
A request is not a message. It waits in your Interested tab, you open the whole profile, and the conversation only exists once you approve it. A decline is silent and final.
Block and report, both ways
Blocking is mutual and immediate — you disappear from each other everywhere in the app, and any match between you is removed. Reports are private; the person reported is never told who.
Pause without losing anything
One switch hides you from Nearby for everyone. Your existing chats stay exactly as they are, and turning it back on puts you straight back where you were.
Deletion that actually deletes
Your photos are cleared from storage, then the account is removed and every row you own goes with it. The reason you give is recorded with no link back to you.

How does it work?
Nearby lists everyone in your area. Open anyone you like the look of and send a request. It lands in their Interested tab, and a chat only opens once they approve it — nobody is messaged without agreeing to it first.
Why can I only see people of my own gender?
That is the default, because most people looking for a flatshare want it. You can open your profile to everyone from your settings, and it asks you to confirm before it changes anything. It is mutual: you are only shown people who have also opted in.
Who decides how far away people are?
Both of you. Matching uses the smaller of your two search radii, so widening yours never forces you into someone else's list. Distance is measured from the office you anchored to, or from a rounded GPS fix if you allowed location.
What does the compatibility score mean?
A single number out of 100 weighing the things that decide a flatshare: same employer, how close you live, day-to-day habits, rent range, move-in timing and shared interests. Company and distance carry the most weight, and every score opens into the reasons behind it.
What is the rent figure on a card?
The share of rent that person expects to pay each month — not their salary, and not the whole flat. Two people only appear to each other if their ranges overlap.
What does the verified tick mean?
They confirmed a work email at the company on their profile. It says the employer is real; it does not vouch for the person. You can limit Nearby to verified profiles from the filters.
Someone asked to connect — can I see who?
Yes. The Interested tab shows everyone waiting on you, and you open a profile in full before deciding. Approve and a chat opens for both of you; decline and they are not told, and they will not come back.
Is it free?
Yes. Finding a flatmate is not a thing anyone should be charged for twice, and every safety feature described on this page is part of the product rather than a tier of it.
